Program Information
What can you do with a career in Sociology or Social Work? Sociology is the scientific study of human society and group behavior. Entry level positions in business, social service and the government offer you the opportunity to use the skills you have learned in dealing with people. Our sociology program will provide you with the first two years of courses designed to transfer to college or university. You can use your degree in sociology as a broad liberal arts base for a profession in education, law, medicine and social work. A bachelor’s degree in sociology is excellent preparation for continuing your graduate work to become a professor or researcher. If you are interested in understanding how social groups, organizations, cultures, communities and different societies work, then Butler’s sociology curriculum will fit your needs.
Butler Community College is committed to flexible pathways for our student’s success. Courses are offered in varying delivery formats; face-to-face, blended and online. When reviewing this pathway, please check the Class Schedule to identify which format the course is offered to make sure you are selecting the delivery modality that fits your needs.
