Game and Simulation Development (AAS)


Program Information

The Associate of Applied Science in Game and Simulation Design equips students with the foundational skills and knowledge to thrive in the interactive entertainment and simulation industries. This hands-on program emphasizes game mechanics, 3D modeling, scripting, and storytelling while fostering teamwork and project management skills critical for game development. Students will design and develop playable games, create immersive simulations, and explore emerging technologies like virtual and augmented reality. The degree prepares graduates for entry-level positions in game design, simulation development, and interactive media production. Potential roles include those listed below and many more: 

Game Designer Level Designer 3D Artist
Technical Artist QA Tester Simulation Developer

This program also serves as a stepping stone for further education in game development, computer science, or digital media. Students will gain real-world experience through project-based coursework, collaborative game development, and exposure to industry-standard tools and practices. Whether pursuing a career in entertainment, education, healthcare, or corporate training, graduates will be equipped to create engaging and impactful interactive experiences.

CertiPort Certification

Through your coursework you may qualify to take industry certification exams. Butler community Colleges IN Department is a certified Certiport Testing Center for Microsoft and Adobe certifications and administer those tests on campus to students enrolled in or completers of certain IN classes. Please see your lead instructor for details.
