Music (AA)

Program Information

Butler Music departments offer the opportunity to perform in a variety of ensembles.  You do not need to be a music major to audition for the many ensembles or scholarships. You will learn several different musical styles through individual instruction and performance classes.

Student must specify Vocal or Instrumental music as primary focus.  While not required, music majors should audition for and participate in small ensembles in addition to College Band or Chorus.  Students with a Vocal focus should also strongly consider taking Dance classes.  The following small ensembles may be available in addition to College Band and Chorus:Bucket 6

  • Pep Band
  • Jazz Ensemble
  • Show Band
  • Chamber Ensembles
  • Percussion Ensemble
  • Chamber Singers
  • A Cappella
  • Headliners
  • Barbershop Quartets

Music (AA) majors are strongly encouraged to enroll in general education courses during a summer semester to reduce course load during the Fall and Spring.  Scholarships may be available for Music Majors.  Visit the Fine Arts and Communication (www.butlercc.edu/fine-arts)  homepage for more information.

Butler Community College is committed to flexible pathways for our student’s success. Courses are offered in varying delivery formats; face-to-face, blended and online.
