FL 205. Conversational Spanish 1 This course will enable the student to conduct simple conversations successfully in Spanish, as well as understand many articles written in Spanish. The student will be able to recognize a large number of cognates, strategies and rules for converting English words to Spanish, hints for identifying large numbers of new words in Spanish, and formulas that use Spanish verbs to describe events in the past, present and future. This course is designed for the student who is continuing intermediate-low language study and preparing to pursue foreign language credits that fulfill degree requirements.
Prerequisite(s): FL 108 with a C or better or six traditional academic semesters of Spanish in secondary school
