MA 060. Fundamentals of Algebra

Prerequisite(s): A score at a predetermined level on a placement instrument or MA 050 or MA 053 with a C or better.

This course will enable the student to interpret mathematical symbols and notation, simplify exponents, perform operations on polynomials, factor polynomials, and solve linear equations (including within word problems), inequalities, and quadratic equations by factoring. The student will graph, find the equation of a line, and simplify radical expressions. (INACTIVE EFFECTIVE FA17.)
