NR 116. Professional Nursing 1 This course will enable the student to identify professional standards and scope of practice within the legal and ethical frameworks of the nursing profession. The student will describe the various uses of communication styles as they relate to the role of the nurse. The student will differentiate the steps of the nursing process to develop safe clinical reasoning, clinical judgment, and critical thinking.
Prerequisite(s): BI 240 , (or BI 226 and BI 227 ), BS 160 , EG 101 , MA 135 (or MA 132 , MA 133 , and MA 134 ) or above, all with a C or better. Departmental acceptance to the nursing program.
