Program Information

The Associate in Science in biological science is designed for students planning to seek to transfer to a four-year college and requires a minimum of 20 credit hours in requirements in addition to the general education requirements. Are you curious about the living world around you? Enroll in the Butler Biological Science programs and prepare for a bright future in the fields of healthcare, environmental, biological sciences and veterinary medicine. Covering the breadth of microbiology to human physiology to environmental sciences, from the smallest organisms to our human world and ties that connect them all, the biological sciences describe how the living world works. The science of life is relevant to us all.

Butler Community College is committed to flexible pathways for our student’s success. Courses are offered in varying delivery formats; face-to-face, blended and online. Please note: Biology Majors are required to take BI215 and BI220. Biology Majors: BI215 Majors Biology 1 must be taken prior to BI220 Majors Biology 2.  Consequently, students taking courses on the El Dorado campus will take BI215 Majors Biology 1 in the Spring (2nd Term) and BI220 Majors Biology 2 the following Fall (3rd Term).  Students taking courses on the Andover campus will take BI215 Majors Biology 1 in the Fall (3rd Term) and BI220 Majors Biology 2 the following Spring (4th term).  Please check the interactive schedule for course sequence availability or contact an advisor.
