Sport Management (AS)

Program Information

Butler’s Sport Management Pathway prepares the student planning to pursue a degree to work in the sports industry in a variety of roles including Sport Administration, Marketing, Sales, Recreation, Event Management and Logistics.  The student learning continues beyond the classroom, enabling students to gain real world experience serving in a variety of roles for Butler Grizzly athletic events.

As the student moves on to a 4-year program, areas of focused study may include, but are not limited to:

  • Sport Management
  • Public Recreation
  • Children and Family
  • Fitness Club Management
  • Commercial Recreation
  • Outdoor Leadership
  • Outdoor Recreation
  • Youth at Risk

Career opportunities for Sport Management positions are found in university and professional sports including Sport Marketing, Athletic Administration, Sport Facility Management, Public Recreation Administration, Special Event Development, and Commercial Recreation Enterprise.
