PA 101. Professional Pastry Arts 1

This course will enable the student to identify, prepare, and present a variety of classical pastries as well as learn the history of pastries. The student will develop basic skills in sanitation and safety practices. The student will become familiar with equipment in the professional pastry kitchen. The student will prepare cookies, tarts, pies, and other classical pastries.

Prerequisite(s): HM 101 with a C or better or concurrent enrollment.
