MC 206. Introduction to Film Theory

This course will enable the student to apply major theoretical and critical schools of thought to the study of film. The student will examine classical dramatic theories in the first third of the semester. The student will apply a range of critical approaches to films screened in class, including genre, auteur, feminist, socio-cultural and historical schools of thought in the remainder of the semester.
