CD 214. Family Child Care Practicum 2 This course will enable the student to explore the family child care accreditation process outlined by the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) and create plans to make needed improvements in the family child care business. The student will continue to explore the Kansas Regulations for Licensing Day Care Homes and Group Day Care Homes for Children. The student will observe children in the program and complete developmental checklists to recognize red flags and determine courses of action. The student will complete and document 150 hours of working directly with children in a licensed family child care setting.This course will enable the student to explore the family day care accreditation process outlined by the National Association for Family Child Care and create plans to make needed improvements in a home day care business. The student will develop a family resource packet, complete developmentally appropriate activity plans, and continue to explore the Kansas Regulations for Licensing Day Care Homes and Group Day Care Homes for Children. The student will document 150 hours of work directly with children in a licensed home day care setting.
Prerequisite(s): CD 213 with a C or better.
